Victor François Fétique, born in 1872 and passed away in 1933, was a renowned French bow maker from a family with a rich history in the craft. He was born in Mirecourt, France, and apprenticed under the tutelage of Charles Claude Husson, an esteemed bowmaker. Fétique also received training from Sigisbert Maline, Émile Miquel, and Nicolas Bazin.

In 1901, Fétique made the move to Paris to join the prestigious Caressa & Français firm. Over the course of 12 years working there, his style of bow-making underwent a significant evolution. One of his major influences during this time was his colleague, Claude Thomassin.

In 1913, Fétique established his own workshop in Paris, where he swiftly gained recognition for crafting bows of exceptional quality. His bows were highly regarded for their impeccable balance, playability, and tonal characteristics.

Professional musicians continue to seek out Fétique's bows, which remain in high demand.

Fétique's life came to an end in Paris in 1933, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most esteemed French bow makers of the early 20th century.
