Wilson C1 and C2 pickup for Cello

The Wilson C1 and C2-Pickups are designed to amplify the cello. Focusing more on the mid-frequency range of the cello these Pickups catches the expressive range from below the low C and past the highest audible overtones of the instrument in a way that brings out the full dynamic range of the instrument.

Since the bridge is much smaller than the double bass bridge it only need two Pickups. By rotating a pickup slightly, you can balance the sound level between two strings (A/D and G/C), matching the acoustic sound of your instrument.

You can buy the Wilson Pickups for Cello with 2 pickups (order C2) or only 1 pickup (order C1).

The Wilson Pickup System for cello has quite a few assets to offer:

  • It gives a realistic, close to perfect, acoustic sound.
  • It allows each string to be individually volume adjusted by simply rotating the Pickup in its mount. It is accurate and completely linear in all registers.
  • It has the same effect when played by pizz and arco.
  • It is connected directly to an amplifier.
  • No pre-amp needed. It is easily built into the bridge as an active part of the cello itself.
  • It’s position close to the strings captures the body signal in the sound production.
  • It has a frequency response of 70 Hz to 30 kHz – and even beyond.

The craftmanship of the Wilson Pickups is uncompromised. Each Pickup is handmade in Denmark and thoroughly tested for mechanical tolerance, insulating resistance and frequency response.
