This cello was made using a copy of Stradivari’s B-mould. The original mould was the origin of some of his most famous celli like the” Davidov” (1710) and the “Baron Rothschild” (1710), this being said, it’s the makers believe that the sound quality of this cello depends on well-chosen characteristics of the back and top plate, rather than the outline-design of the instrument.
The specific density and stiffness of the cello’s plates result in a sound that is generous, warm and focused at the same time.
The varnish is oil-based and is applied with a little touch of antiqueness, as a small reminder of the role that history plays in the creation of these instruments.

A fantastic sounding contemporary cello offering everything that the modern cellist requires.

The front in two matching pieces of spruce of medium grain in the centre broadening towards the flanks. The antiqued varnish of a lustrous, warm amber-orange-brown colour on an amber ground.
